This product is a controllable guidewire, with a core wire made of 304 stainless steel. The proximal portion is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and has a nominal diameter of 0.010in and 0.014in. It is available in nominal lengths of 182cm, 205cm, and 300cm. The distal 2cm portion of the guidewire is shapeable. The Transend EX Platinum guidewire and the Transend 300cm guidewire come with a 3cm-long distal end platinum tungsten alloy spring coil. All guidewires have a core wire and an ICE hydrophilic coating surface. The product is sterilized with ethylene oxide and is for single-use only. The shelf life is two years.
